New: access to SciFinder-n

23 March 2020

The University Library now offers access to SciFinder-n: an upgrade to SciFinder, the chemistry and molecular science database.

The added value of SciFinder-n

Some unique assets and possibilities of SciFinder-n in comparison to the actual SciFinder interface:

  • SciFinder-n gives access to the Retrosynthesis planner, experimental as well as predicted
  • Searching for structure is more easy; you don't have to fill in whether you want to do an Exact, Substructure or Similarity search first
  • SciFinder-n gives easy access to the PDF full text of patents through PatentPak
  • SciFinder-n has a history function through which you can easily activate an earlier search
  • SciFinder-n supports multi-tab use
  • Relevance ranking is also an important new function of SciFinder-n. The amount of information grows exponentially, so it becomes ever more important to have the most relevant records presented first
  • No more “filter limits”
  • The interface is much more user friendly

To get access to SciFinder-n, you have to create an account with your UG mail address and log on directly to SciFinder-n:
