Did you know that the profit margins of academic publishers like Elsevier are greater than those of companies like Apple, Facebook or Google? What is the rationale behind the $25.2 billion per year being earned by commercial publishers? How does the model of subscription-based academic journals affect academia?

Join us for the screening of "Paywall: The Business of Scholarship" with an introduction by Dr. Marijke Leliveld (Faculty of Economics and Business).

  • Wednesday, 21 November, 4.30 pm
  • University of Groningen Library City Centre, Jantina Tammes Room, 4th Floor
  • Introduction and screening (1h 5min) will be in English
