Summer School

Are you interested in culture and intercultural communication? Do you want to communicate effectively with people from other cultures? If so, the Summer School on Intercultural Competence could be for you!

Intercultural competence is considered one of the top 10 skills necessary for future workers. It helps you to recognize cultural differences and to understand their influence on interaction. This skill allows you to easily prevent misunderstandings and miscommunications! By developing your intercultural competence, you will gain a life skill and improve your future employability.

This Summer School is aimed at students of all educational levels. During a week of intensive training, we will cover everything from cultural stereotypes to communication styles. You will:

  • gain a deeper insight into your own culture
  • learn more about different behavioural and communication patterns
  • share critical intercultural incidents and best practices
  • develop your own intercultural competence with the help of exercises, games, and simulations
  • learn how to deploy intercultural competence development in your academic and/or professional field(s)

The Summer School will take place in person in Groningen from 26 to 30 June. Registration is possible until 1 May 2023. For more information and an opportunity to register, visit our website.
