Create an inclusive and safe environment for your international students
How do you handle cultural differences in the classroom? Do you approach everyone in the same way, regardless of someone's cultural background, or is it better to include these cultural differences in your approach?
Research conducted by KU Leuven and the University of Amsterdam shows that the latter is true: by creating an environment in which students can learn from each other's cultural differences instead of ignoring them, international students experience more inclusion and psychological safety.
Do you teach and would you like to discover how you can create an inclusive environment in your classes? The Language Centre offers various training courses designed to improve your intercultural competence. The Winter School on Intercultural Competence is planned for January. This is an intensive, week-long training course intended for professionals who are involved in the development of intercultural competence and internationalization. In addition, you can visit the Language Centre for an intake interview to discuss tailor-made courses designed specifically to fit your needs, either on an individual level or a group level.
