Executive Master of M&A and Valuation accredited as joint degree with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
We are pleased to announce that our Executive Master of M&A and Valuation has been accredited as a joint degree by the NVAO. Starting 1 September, participants enrolled in the programme will receive a master's degree from both the University of Groningen and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam upon successful completion.

The part-time master focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions and Valuation originated in 2009 and has been an accredited master's programme since 2018, offered by the University of Groningen Business School in close collaboration with Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Beginning in September 2025, the renewed master’s programme is offered as a joint degree, bringing several benefits to participants. Students of the master are professionals working in M&A who want to accelerate their career in the field.
Interdisciplinary
The programme covers the entire deal process from strategy to execution and integration, encompassing many disciplines such as finance, valuation, accounting, modelling, tax, law, ESG, and data analytics. The combined expertise of both institutions allows for excellent teaching in this interdisciplinary programme by academic experts who are leading researchers with strong connections to the professional field. The collaboration enhances and supports the quality of the programme.
Advantageous location
The location at the Amsterdam Zuidas is advantageous for both students and (guest) lecturers due to its central location and its proximity to the heart of M&A and financial activity in the Netherlands. Additionally, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers a nearby academic learning environment.
As a joint degree programme, students can utilize the facilities, such as interactive lecture rooms and libraries, of both universities. The partnership strengthens the foundation of the programme by embedding it within the broader context of executive education offered by both universities.
Students will benefit from the extensive networks both institutions maintain with the professional world, enabling the integration of real cases into the programme, connecting theory and practice. Students will also have lectures by top speakers and can take advantage of the alumni networks and events of both universities.
