The CIT provides an information security policy (link). The purpose of information security is to protect and preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.

“Among the elements provided by the information security policy is a framework by which (future) measures in information security can be tested against an established best practice or standard. The information security policy is based on the international ISO27000 standard and describes standards and measures that are required for achieving an adequate level of information security. Attention is given to the legal requirements that must be taken into consideration. Organizational embedding is achieved through the description of the governance.”

Safeguarding confidentiality, integrity and availability of research data in specific research scenario’s is supported by building blocks of technical and organisational measures (link).
