Chinese

The Chinese language course of the University of Groningen Language Centre will introduce students to the standard Chinese language ('Mandarin') or build on knowledge and skills already present. The emphasis will be on communication in everyday situations in relation to cultural customs in China. In addition, attention will be paid to grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and writing skills.

In the courses, we study the Chinese language and culture. During the beginners level 0 > pre A1 you will learn to read and write the Chinese script. You will be able to recognise common words found on Chinese street signs or menus. We also practice with everyday conversation situations, such as in a restaurant, on the street or a conversation with an acquaintance.
