In March 2026, the University of Groningen Digital Competence Centre (UG DCC) celebrates its first lustrum: five years of supporting researchers in managing and stewarding their research data and software at the University of Groningen.

What began in 2021 as an NWO-funded initiative to establish local Digital Competence Centres across the Netherlands has grown into a permanent and central service within the university. As the connecting hub between the University Library, the Centre for Information Technology, and the faculties, the UG DCC has helped researchers navigate data management, FAIR practices, IT solutions, and training throughout all phases of their research.

During this celebratory afternoon, we will reflect on our journey from project to established service, highlight the impact of data stewardship at the UG and celebrate our research network. We warmly invite researchers, support staff, and colleagues to join us in celebrating five years of collaboration, growth, and digital innovation.

PubQuiz, talks, colleagues: Will you come and celebrate with us?
