Business German

Guten Tag! Hätten Sie einen Moment Zeit?
Arabic

Would you like to feel more comfortable when dealing with your German-speaking business associates? Do you sometimes wonder how to address people and worry about the dos and don'ts in the workplace? The Business German training course will teach you how to cope with the linguistic and cultural aspects of doing business in German.

During the course, you will practise typical business conversations using examples from your own work situation. In small groups, with a maximum of 10 participants, you will take a practical approach to improving your language skills and learn to be more confident in various situations.

The exercises will help you to broaden your vocabulary, find the right tone and improve your grammar. The focus of the course is on subjects such as:

  • Making appointments
  • Paying visits
  • Holding sales pitches
  • Giving presentations
  • Calling people, sending emails and online contacts
  • Meetings

online courses

The Business German training course starts on Wednesday 28 April and is taught as an online interactive training course via Blackboard Collaborate; our virtual classroom for the forthcoming period. Read here here what to expect from the virtual classroom.

Schedule and registration

Your level

The level of this course is A2/B1 and it is suitable for anyone with a reasonable, basic knowledge of German. This means people who took German for a few years at secondary school, for example, or who passed their secondary school exams in German but have not used the language since then.

You can identify with the following:

  • You can follow conversations about familiar subjects.
  • People usually understand you if you speak German.
  • You cannot always find the words to say what you mean.
  • You often use the same words and sentences.

If you are unsure about your level, test yourself online using the placement test! Alternatively, make an appointment for the online German office hour to get personal advice.
