Invitation to the presentation of the Gerrit Krol Award on 12 June

The entries for the first edition of the Gerrit Krol Award are all submitted, and the jury is currently deliberating on who will be the very first winner of the Award. This will be announced on 12 June.

Prior to the presentation of the award, writer Fleur van der Beij will spice up the afternoon with a story about her experiences as a young and successful author. The jury comprises Ellen Deckwitz (writer), Ellen Krol (Gerrit Krol’s daughter) and Ronald Ohlsen (lecturer at the UG Language Centre and writer). The winner will then read their essay, after which all attendees can stay for drinks and snacks and discuss the winning essay further .

The University of Groningen Language Centre, organizer of the Gerrit Krol Award, is delighted to invite you to this festive ceremony.
