Festive opening of Café de las Lenguas well attended
On Thursday 27 September a new year of Café de las Lenguas was officially opened. The European Day of Languages was also celebrated this evening. Both of these factors contributed to an extra celebratory evening with a huge turnout!
Over 100 language learners from all corners of the world attended the evening. Together they spoke more than 30 mother tongues, from Dutch, Spanish and Russian to Farsi, Pashto and Mandinka. In small groups they practised Dutch, German, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Swedish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese and Chinese. Curious as to how that sounded? Check out this video which gives a good impression of the evening.
Café de las Lenguas is a language café that is organized every Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Harmonie Building canteen. It offers you the opportunity to practise speaking a foreign language in an informal setting. Want to join us? You can find all the information you need on the Café de las Lenguas Facebook page.
