The new CMB: studying with a view of the 'Hoornse Meer'

The new Central Medical Library (CMB) is now open, but not yet finished.
This will be added soon:

  • Separation boards between the PC workplaces
  • Sockets everywhere
  • Ctouch screens in the group rooms
  • A sitting area in front of the CMB
  • Plants in the Silent Study Area (ground floor)

Three locations

The CMB has now two locations and a third location will be added in the course of the year.
These are the locations:

  1. CMB Faculty
Here you will find all library facilities: many study places, RUG computers, group study rooms, (study) books, print facilities and a help desk. There are rooms for CMB workshops and individual assistance.
    • Visiting address:
Antonius Deusinglaan 1, building 3211, basement.
  2. CMB Silent Study Areas
These are the previously opened study rooms.
    • Visiting address:
Antonius Deusinglaan 1, building 3215, ground floor, just past the restaurant.
  3. CMB CMC (Central Medical Complex)
The renovation will soon start at the former CMB location. After de renovation, part of the fourth floor will remain in use of the CMB, with library facilities specially for UMCG staff. A few dozen UMCG PCs will be installed. Just as in the 'CMB Faculty', there will be rooms for CMB workshops and individual assistance.
    • Visiting address (later this year)
Hanzeplein 1 (Central Medical Complex), 4th floor (Y4.202), Poortweg 12 or Winkelstraat 1.
This location will only be accessible with a UMCG card
