I would like to test my level of German, French, Italian or Spanish

You can have your German language proficiency assessed at the Goethe-Institut in Amsterdam. They offer exams for students and professionals at levels A1 to C2.

You can have your French language proficiency assessed at the Institut français NL in Groningen. They offer the DELF and DALF exams at levels A1 to C2.

You can take an official CELI exam to assess your Italian proficiency. The exams cover levels A1 to C2. The test centre for CELI in the Netherlands is the Italian Cultural Institute in Amsterdam.

You can have your Spanish language proficiency assessed at the University of Groningen Language Centre using our own Spanish test. You can also contact external providers to take an official Spanish exam, such as DELE and SIELE.

Spanish Test via UG Language Centre

You can take the Language Centre Spanish Test at levels A2, B1 and B2. Please keep in mind that the test is not universally recognised. Before you register for the test, we therefore advise you to check with the relevant university or organisation whether they accept the Language Centre Spanish test as proof of your language level.

DELE and SIELE via an external provider

The Instituto Cervantes administers the official exams leading to a universally recognised international Spanish language qualification: DELE and SIELE. The DELE test centres are located in Utrecht and Tilburg; the SIELE exam is taken online. Full details of the differences between the exams and how to register can be found on the Cervantes website.
