Extended CMB opening hours & new reservation tool

01 September 2020
Reserve a seat in the library

The Central Medical Library has entered a new opening phase.

What is changed?

  • Our normal opening hours apply again, so we also open in the evenings and weekends.
  • We have switched to a new reservation tool , which works completely contactless
  • Students no longer have to enter via the bicycle shed at a specific time, as the entire faculty building has opened
  • The c omputers may be used, but just like the study places only by reservation.

What remains (for the time being) the same?

  • The 'Silent Study Areas' on the ground floor will still be closed
  • The restaurant will only open (partially) after September 14th

New reservation tool

We have also switched to a new reservation tool. The study places remain only available on reservation. That also applies to the computers.

Link reservation tool only on Nestor

Due to the corona measures, we can only make a limited number of study places available. To prevent students from other faculties from occupying the few places, we only made the link to the reservation tool available via Nestor (course 'Medical Library'). In this way, only medical students can reserve a place in the CMB. The reservation tool cannot be reached in any other way, not even via Google. We ask medical students not to pass on the url of the reservation tool - in their own interest - to students from other faculties.

How to book?

If you have clicked on the link to the reservation tool in Nestor, you will see an overview of all available study places. Click on the desired start time and then choose an end time.

You can book a maximum of 2x 4 hours per day. An extra half hour is automatically added to the reservation.

Contactless check-in

If you have reserved a study place, you will receive a confirmation email containing a code.

When you arrive at the CMB, you no longer need to report to the front desk first, you can go directly to your table and check in yourself:

  1. Scan the QR code on your table
  2. Enter the code

Note: If you haven't checked in half an hour after the start time, your reservation will automatically expire.

If you cannot come, we appreciate it if you cancel the reservation via the link in the email, so that someone else can reserve the spot.

Corona rules

Also in the library you have to adhere to the corona rules:

  • Wearing a (non-medical grade) face mask is strongly advised when moving from place to place inside the library
  • Please observe social distancing during your visit. For that reason we ask you not to move the chairs. So, for example, don't sit together behind one computer.
  • You can clean your study place with the available cleaning materials
  • Use the dispenser at the entrance to disinfect your hands

We ask that you do not come if you are unwell or have symptoms of Covid-19.
