Study associations
A study association is an organization of students who are studying the same degree programme or specialization.
Study associations offer certain discounts for students (e.g. on textbooks), they organize activities and help students to orient themselves in the job market as a whole or in specific sectors. It is possible to do committee work or organizational work for your study association. This will give you experience in practical aspects of your subject area, organizing activities or as an administrator of an organization.
If you’re looking for a job or placement, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on your study association’s website. Study associations often have contacts with companies and organizations that are relevant to a particular degree programme.
