Open Day field station 'De Herdershut' Schiermonnikoog, Saturday 27 August

22 July 2022

The new biology research field research station of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen (RUG) will open its doors on Saturday 27 August.

In general, the research activities and facilities of the University of Groningen are not directly visible to the public. But on Saturday 27 August, everyone - young and old - is welcome between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to view the new 'Herdershut' (Shepherd's hut) and get explanations about the ecological research being carried out here, for example on spoonbills, herbivores and the vegetation of the salt marsh. Local research, but with global impact! There are also fun activities and games for children.

Admission is free and no registration is necessary.

Location: Heereweg 10, Schiermonnikoog
