Help out at Eureka! - the science festival at Forum Groningen

02 July 2026
Eureka!

This autumn, we will once again celebrate science during a science festival at the Forum Groningen on Friday 25 September 2026. This year, we call it Eureka! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to help bring science closer to the public.

Eureka! for curious people in Groningen

Eureka! (formerly European Researchers’ Night) brings together science, innovation, and curiosity in a vibrant festival filled with experiments, games, workshops, talks, interactive installations, and music. During the afternoon, we welcome secondary school students from across the region, while in the evening the festival opens to curious visitors from Groningen and beyond.

Would you like to help create an inspiring experience for visitors?

As a volunteer, you will be an important part of the festival. You will welcome visitors (high school students and/or adults), support activities, and help ensure that everything runs smoothly throughout the day. You will also assist with practical tasks such as setting up and wrapping up the event.

You can volunteer for:

  • The afternoon programme for secondary school students
  • The evening programme for festival visitors
  • Both

You will receive a volunteer remuneration of 3.40 EUR per hour.

Please note: if you already have a position at the University of Groningen, for example as a student assistant or a PhD student, you are very welcome to join, but you will not be eligible for the volunteer compensation.

Would you like to join us?

Sign up using this form and help make science accessible, interactive, and inspiring for everyone.

If you have any questions, feel free to email eureka@rug.nl.

Eureka! is an initiative of the Schools for Science and Society and is organised together with Forum Groningen and many enthusiastic partners.
