Regulating Tobacco and Novel Products: Special Attention to Human Rights

From:Th 04-12-2025
Until:Fr 05-12-2025
Where:Groningen

In the face of enduring global health inequities, the tobacco epidemic continues to claim millions of lives each year. With the rise of novel nicotine products, industry influence in low- and middle-income countries, and growing debates on human rights in public health law, there is urgent need for renewed attention to these concerns in legal scholarship.

This conference brings together researchers, legal scholars, and practitioners working at the intersection of law, tobacco control, and human rights. Topics will include regulation of novel tobacco and nicotine products, rights-based approaches to public health, the impact of international law, and regional experiences with policy implementation and enforcement.

This event aims to foster collaboration across jurisdictions and sectors, support emerging research, and contribute to the development of policy-relevant legal scholarship.
