Joint event ISPOR student chapter & Aletta's Talent Network

When:Th 21-11-2019 14:30 - 19:00
Where:Duisenberg & Kapteynborg, Zernike, Groningen

On November 21st Aletta's Talent Network organizes a joint network event with the International Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) Student Chapter Groningen, a network for (PhD)students in health economics in Groningen. During this day various speaker will talk about expensive drugs and how they influence the Dutch healthcare system.

We can read it daily in the news papers: rising healthcare expenditure due to factors such as an aging population and the high prices of new innovative treatments is putting greater and greater pressure on healthcare budgets. To make healthcare affordable, important decisions need to be made on the reimbursement of expensive new treatments.

During the afternoon program, the ISPOR student chapter has invited three speakers - Marja Pronk, who has been an adviser on the Dutch reimbursement system for over 25 years; Wobbe Hospes, hospital pharmacist in the Ommelander Hospital; and Simon van der Schans, PhD candidate at the UMCG and project manager at Fair Medicine. These experts will give insight into the implications of the (reimbursement) decisions on expensive drugs and how this reflects daily work.

Starting from 17.00, the Aletta Talent Network organizes a seminar with Cornelis Boersma. Cornelis Boersma is a scientist, consultant and the founder and CEO of Health-Ecore B.V., a company focused on innovation and sustainable healthcare.

Participation for the day is free of charge! You can find the detailed programme below.

We hope to see you all on the 21st and don't forget to bring your colleagues!
