The Library’s Jubilee Book:

To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the University Library, Gerda Huisman, its keeper of Special Collections, wrote a richly illustrated book, The University Library of Groningen. Four hundred years of history in four buildings, forty collections and infinite pictures.

The book begins with the history of the Library, using as a guide the four buildings in which it has been housed over the past four centuries. A selection of forty collections from the Library’s rich holdings are presented and illustrated with photographs by Dirk Fennema. The oblong book was designed by Nynke Tiekstra (Coltsfoot Media, Rotterdam) and published by Roelf Barkhuis (Groningen).
