Aletta Consulting
Since 2018, Aletta Advies has been the applied advisory and knowledge partner of the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health. It translates scientific knowledge into societal impact and brings questions from practice back to science. We are an independent, scientifically grounded organisation specialising in monitoring, evaluation and knowledge translation. Our focus is on generating insight and learning, rather than on implementation. Aletta Advies is a non-profit partnership between the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health and Triade/UMCG. Together, we connect knowledge, expertise, public engagement, entrepreneurship and advisory services.
Aletta Advies works as a knowledge intermediary and boundary spanner, bridging the different perspectives of science, policy and practice, and creating space for reflection and collective learning. We are not policymakers or an implementation partner. Instead, we facilitate insight, interpretation and reflection, drawing on current scientific knowledge and practical experience, and engaging people from the School’s network. This is where Aletta Advies makes a distinctive contribution: we mobilise the knowledge and experience of researchers in the School’s network and connect them with projects that have a tangible impact on public health.
Aletta Advies offers four complementary services:
-
Monitoring and evaluation of complex programmes: Designing and conducting monitoring and evaluation processes to provide insight into progress, outcomes and the underlying mechanisms of societal programmes.
-
Knowledge translation and interpretation: Translating data, research and practical experience into meaningful insights and actionable perspectives for policy and practice.
-
Process facilitation and reflection in transitions: Organising and facilitating learning processes, reflection and collective interpretation in complex change initiatives.
-
Developing knowledge questions and proposals: Identifying and refining societal challenges, then translating them into concrete assignments and knowledge questions in collaboration with Aletta and its partners.
