WEON 2019 - 'Healthy Ageing'

From:Th 13-06-2019
Until:Fr 14-06-2019
Where:UMCG

We invite all epidemiologists to the annual Dutch Epidemiology Conference, the WEON,
to meet, present, share and discuss research on June 13 and 14, 2019.
On June 12, 2019 several pre-conference courses will be organized.

This 43rd WEON-conference from the Netherlands Epidemiological Society (Dutch: VvE), WEON2019,
will be organized by the Department of Epidemiology of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).
The venue is the UMCG (Hanzeplein 1, 9713 GZ Groningen) which is located near the city-centre of Groningen.

The central theme of WEON2019 is ‘Healthy Ageing’

International and national top-scientists will give keynote lectures covering a broad range of factors associated with ‘Healthy Ageing’ across the life-course. Special attention will be given to methodological aspects in this research-field and life-course epidemiology.

There will be 12 thematic parallel-sessions. During lunch-time poster-sessions will be held. Deadline for submission of abstracts is March 15, 2019. The abstracts may cover any epidemiologic subject and are definitely not restricted to the congress theme ‘Healthy Ageing’. We specifically encourage you to send in abstracts that include methodological novelties.

On Friday-morning (June 14, 2019) 4 master classes will be given in which leading researchers from Groningen will present the current state-of-the-art and new developments in their research field.

The fee for joining the conference (including lunch) will be, in case of registration before May 20, 2019:

  • € 170 VvE-members/Bachelor or Master-students
  • € 220 Non VvE-members

The fee will be increased with € 30 after May 20, 2019.

We hope to see you all in Groningen!
