Aletta Theme Meeting: Health as Lived Experience
Join us for the next meeting of the Aletta theme Health as Lived Experience, where we will come together to exchange ideas, share updates, and explore future plans for the network.
This edition will feature an interactive “popcorn pitch” session focused on the question:
How can we develop a shared methodology for lived experience research?
Programme
In addition to updates and planning future meetings, participants are invited to give a short pitch (just a few minutes) on a key text from their own field that explains or demonstrates a lived experience approach.
Possible questions include:
-
How can literary narrative contribute to lived experience research?
-
How are historical sources relevant?
-
What role does lived experience play in ethnography?
-
How can different disciplines collaborate more fruitfully?
By bringing together perspectives from across disciplines, we hope to identify shared approaches and new opportunities for collaboration.
Share a Text
A shared Google Drive folder has been created to collect and make relevant texts accessible. Participants may also be added directly to the folder by the organisers.
The folder already includes:
-
introductory texts on phenomenology and hermeneutics
-
historical background on the lived experience movement
-
examples from nursing studies and philosophy
You are warmly encouraged to add your own suggested reading and briefly introduce it during the meeting on 13 May.
Directions
Room 117 can be reached by walking along the corridor to the main hall, keeping right, and continuing to the end of the passage. Take the stairs on your right. There is only one room upstairs, reserved for our meeting.
Participation
All members of the network are warmly invited to attend. Volunteers to present a text are especially welcome.
For more information, please contact Christoph Jedan at c.jedan@rug.nl.
We look forward to seeing you on 13 May!
