Annual Healthy Ageing Symposium: Perspectives From The Behavioural And Social Sciences

When:Th 31-10-2019 12:30 - 16:15
Where:0161 Munting building (Kouwerzaal) - Grote Kruisstraat 2/1

Background

Healthy Ageing is one of the three priority areas of research at the University of Groningen. At the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences there is considerable expertise on this topic and a lot of potential for fruitful collaborations between researchers and students.

Purpose

The aim of this annual symposium is to bring together researchers, PhD and (research) master students who share an interest in healthy ageing from the perspective of the behavioural and social sciences. The symposium serves to inform each other about ongoing work at the faculty, explore opportunities for future collaborations and joint funding proposals, and contribute to the creation of an active Healthy Ageing research community within our Faculty and beyond. In addition, we have a keynote speaker this year, Dr. Maja Djundeva who completed her PhD in sociology at this faculty, who will speak on the topic of adequate care provision in old age.

Format

The symposium is preceded by a free walk-in lunch from 12:30-13:00 hrs at the Orangerie. During the symposium, researchers from different research groups within the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences will present their ongoing research projects. Presentations will be short (15 min + 5 min for discussion) to allow for a substantial amount of time for subsequent discussions.
