About the faculty

The Faculty of Philosophy is committed to bringing together stimulating teaching and original research in an informal, friendly setting.

As for teaching, according to the recent Higher Education Review of faculties by students and professors appearing in Elsevier Magazine the Groningen Faculty of Philosophy was judged number one by both students and professors.

The research done in our Graduate School of Philosophy is part of the Groningen Research Institute of Philosophy (GRIPh). This research group of the Groningen Faculty of Philosophy is consistently ranked as one of the best Dutch philosophy departments in external assessments.
