News & Events
We are happy to share that the paper titled "Spontaneous formation and optical manipulation of a woven domain fabric in a ferroelectric crystal", written by CogniGron PI Prof. Beatriz Noheda in collaboration with Feifei Xin and Eugenio Del Re was featured in a video from science communicator Sabine Hossenfelder.
We’re happy to share that the 10xFactor(y) project, managed by UG researchers affiliated with CogniGron, has been featured in the 27th edition of The Innovation Platform.
We are proud to announce that CogniGron PI Serte Donderwinkel has been awarded a Veni grant for her project "Why efficient networks look alike: universal laws of optimized systems".
Meet CTN's new board member, Ishitro Bhaduri! He is a PhD candidate in the Spintronics of Functional Materials group, led by Prof. dr. Tamalika Banerjee. Having completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Groningen, he is now focused on developing hardware probabilistic bits using complex oxides.
The Neuromorphic Computing NL (NC-NL) kick-off meeting in Utrecht brought together key stakeholders from across the Netherlands to strengthen collaboration in this emerging field. With ambitious goals and a strong starting position, the coalition aims to position the Netherlands as a global leader in neuromorphic computing.
CogniGron was represented at two key UK neuromorphic computing events held on 29–30 January at Armourers’ Hall in London. Our Scientific Director, Prof. Dirk Pleiter, and IMChip founder Prof. Tamalika Banerjee were invited to take part in the launch of the Neuroware Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) and the subsequent NeuMat (Neuromorphic Materials and Devices for Future AI Hardware) meeting.
A thousand times greater performance, two hundred times more energy efficient and a hundred times more data transfer speed: the startup IMChip is working on the AI chips of the future. Among other reasons, their work is crucial in times when concerns about the vast amounts of energy used by AI are rising.
CogniGron is proud to be part of the recently launched Neuromorphic Computing NL (NC-NL) alliance, a national initiative that brings together research excellence, innovation, and ambition to shape the future of brain-inspired technology.
Last month, CogniGron's startup IMChip was featured in the northern dutch newspaper Dagblad van het Noorden.
On January 5, the seventh FSE Postdoc Prize was awarded to Dr. Martin Sarott of the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials. He received the prize for his outstanding and forward-looking research on complex oxide thin films for sustainable and energy-efficient computing.
Vorige week verscheen in NRC een artikel over neuromorphic computing in Nederland, waarin CogniGron een belangrijke rol speelt!
