How many printed copies of my PhD thesis do I need to submit?
PhD candidates are supposed to submit 2 printed versions of their PhD thesis, plus 2 copies of their propositions.

Is uploading a digital version of my PhD thesis mandatory?
Digital submission has been mandatory since the adoption of the new PhD Regulations several years ago. Your PhD thesis will be added to the University of Groningen research portal. -
When can I send the thesis to the printer?
Once your (co-)supervisors and the assessment committee have approved your thesis, and the PhD degree registration office office has approved the title page, you may send it to the printer.

Which version of my PhD thesis do I need to upload to Hora Finita?
Usually, the print shop provides a digital version in PDF format as well. Please enquire about this. If not, please use the PDF version you sent to the print shop. -
When do I need to submit my PhD thesis?
Both the printed and the digital version must be formally submitted 3 weeks prior to the PhD ceremony. -
Where do I submit my print copies?
The printed version of your thesis (2 copies plus 2 copies of the propositions) can be handed in at the Library Support Desk of the University Library or sent to our postal address.

You may request confirmation of receipt 10 days after submission via dissertations rug.nl. Usually, however, the thesis has been processed within this time frame and a confirmation email has already been sent via Hora Finita.
Please note that this confirmation e-mail is only sent when the digital version has also already been submitted via Hora Finita. -
There are typos in the final version of my thesis. Can I replace the version with a new version that is free of typos?
The manuscript has already been approved by the assessment committee. Typos can always occur. Typos are not a reason to replace the manuscript.

Where do I submit my supplementary data relating to my thesis?
To store supplementary data (with accompanying links) in Dataverse, it is best to contact the University of Groningen's Digital Competence Centre.
