Changes EBSCO databases

29 July 2025

EBSCOhost offers access to databases in various fields. Some examples of databases are America: history & life, Art Index, Communication & Mass Media Complete, Bibliography of Asian studies, Psycinfo, Medline, MLA and more.

Effective 31 July, EBSCO will have a completely new interface.

What will change?
  • Improved search history
You can now download up to 500 searches

  • Citations more visible
You can now see how often an article has been cited by other researchers

  • Expanded thesaurus functionality (APA)
The “explode” function of the APA thesaurus becomes more powerful: when you use this function, all underlying terms are now included in your search (previously, it only searched one level deeper).

  • Improved working environment for advanced researchers
The interface now combines several elements in one overview, allowing you to switch faster between searching and viewing results:
    - the advanced search options (with multiple entry boxes)
    - your search history
    - the results list

In August, so-called Dynamic People Pages will additionally be included. These are dynamic profile pages of authors, with reliable information such as ORCID IDs, statistics, related topics, co-authors and published works.
