Herman is a Doctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Groningen, The Netherlands. Before returning to academia, he worked in various HR fields for over a decade. He has diverse research interests related to the impacts of contemporary work arrangements on employee well-being and performance. For his dissertation, he examines how the combination of multiple roles across work and nonwork domains influences well-being outcomes. Previously, he held a senior management position at Nutrifood Indonesia. During his professional career in the industry, he achieved several notable awards, including the Top 3 Indonesia Future Human Resource Leader Award and the Top 5 Indonesia Young Business Leaders Award. He also serves as a guest lecturer at several universities and passionately delivers professional talks on People Analytics, Work Psychology, and related topics. His works have been presented at several conferences and published in various outlets, including the Academy of Management, the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology, the Indonesian Association of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Indonesian Association of Positive Psychology. Recently, he won a travel grant for young scholars from the Future of Work Institute in Perth, Australia (2024) and received the best paper designation from the OB division at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark (2025).
