Overview Hanze University of Applied Sciences

Innovations in the care sector require new professionals

All of us grow increasingly older, which makes it necessary to think of new, smart solutions to enhance the quality of life. This concerns not only elderly people and poor health, but also – and especially – growing up under sound physical health conditions, social participation and quality of life. The innovations in our healthcare system, society, the rise of technology and e-Health require a different approach to care providers and new competences of the professional. Hanze UAS responds to this by means of education and research in cooperation with companies and institutions.

Education

The subject Healthy Ageing is part of a large number of schools within Hanze UAS. Moreover, it is possible to follow facultative programmes or do research during your education. After achieving your bachelor degree, you can take part in one of the masters in the field of Healthy Ageing.

Research

Within Hanze UAS, a great extent of the research being done is focused on the broad area of Healthy Ageing. This involves collecting and developing knowledge concerning the process of growing up under sound physical health conditions and ageing healthily and actively. The test results will be used for innovation of the professional practice and for the actualisation of educational programmes. This research is carried out in close cooperation with other centres of applied research and innovation and public authorities.
