Let’s think together: what does good student communication look like without Instagram?

Instagram is currently an important part of our communication with students. It helps us stay connected and visible in student life. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify our presence on this platform.
It does not align with what we, as University Library, stand for: reliable information provision, open science, and digital autonomy. It also raises concerns from a student wellbeing perspective, it is becoming increasingly clear that the platform is addictive and can have an impact on users’ mental health.
That is why we want to open up the conversation: what alternatives are there? Together with students, researchers, professionals, and anyone with ideas, we want to explore what (online) student communication could look like without Instagram.
Will you think along with us?
