University of Groningen Press acquires OPEN Science NL grant
Open Science NL* awards 45 projects that strengthen infrastructure for open science in the Netherlands.n. Our University of Groningen Press is involved in 2 of these projects:
-
Scaling small in NL - Implementing a joint metadata management system to enable joint outputs and services in partnership with Open Access Book infrastructure services.
This project unites university presses in Delft, Groningen, Maastricht, Nijmegen and Tilburg to build a shared system for managing book information. The aim is to improve access to diamond open access books—free to read and publish. In partnership with Thoth (open-source metadata platform), OAPEN and DOAB ( archiving and finding open access books) and Open Book Collective (which supports sustainable funding for open access), the project creates a joint catalogue and shared services. It strengthens non-commercial publishers and supports a more open, fair academic publishing system in line with national Open Science goals. -
Infrastructures for Diamond Open Access in the Netherlands
* Open Science NL is the national programme that promotes and accelerates the transition to open science. The projects make scientific data, software and publications more accessible and help to make science more accessible, transparent and inclusive.
