Request-a-copy in 2022

04 April 2023

Request-a-copy enables users of the UG research portal to request publications that are not yet full-text available (because of an embargo or restriction). The University Library (UB) acts as an intermediary and forwards the request to the author of the publication. The author will decide whether or not to share the publication. Publications will not be shared without the consent of the author. Depending on the author's reply, the UB will handle the request by either sending the publication or sending a notification that the author has decided not to share.

Number of requests 2022

In 2022 a total of 909 request-a-copy requests were received. In 79% of these cases the authors agreed to share the full text. There were requests from 70 different countries, although most requests (62%) came from within the Netherlands. In most cases the requests concerned dissertations (66%), a smaller amount concerned journal articles (34%)
