- The Leprechaun Language, Differing opinions on bilingualism on the Emerald Isle by Charlotte Buijs
You can download the article through our repository
Charlotte Buijs, a student in Applied Linguistics went to Ireland and Northern Ireland to investigate differences in the use of English and Gaelic. To find out these differences she interviewed citizens on the subject and took a good look around. What is the position of Gaelic nowadays on both sides of the border? And how has language been dragged into Ireland's dirty wars. An interesting portrait of a complecated situation.
The Science Shop Language, Culture and Communication invites you to react on this article. We also look forward to work together with other Living Knowledge organisations on research or publications on the subject of multilangualism.
