Mark Vletter Guest Lecture: Building a business like it’s 2017

Mark Vletter is a fast-growth serial entrepreneur. The Groninger entrepreneur has started several business to business companies in the internet and telecommunications industry, some of which for the past years have been some of Europe's fastest growing technology companies. Mark and his team have already received numerous awards, including multiple FD Gazellen and many Deloitte Fast 50 awards. In 2016, according to research by the FD, one of the companies was the fastest growing company in the Netherlands. Additionally, for two years in a row, it was the fastest-growing telecom service provider in Europe. Mark was a 2015 EY Entrepreneurs of the Year finalist.

The organisations set up by Mark collectively serve more than 15,000 companies and are active in three countries. Equality is a core principle in his organizations. This is visible in the way in which he organizes: all businesses operate without management and are therefore completely autonomous . Additionally, the technology developed by the companies is available under open source license. They’ve also actively contributed to projects that created standards for open communication that are being used by millions of businesses worldwide.
