The Groninger Museumnacht is designed to be a diverse, inclusive event where everyone feels welcome. In just a few years, it has become one of the city’s biggest cultural events, drawing more than 3,500 visitors every year. It is particularly popular with a young audience as many (international) students seize the opportunity to explore the city’s wealth of cultural attractions.

Admire special exhibitions and permanent collections, follow a workshop, hop along on a tour or dance to the music! There is plenty to see and do.

Books, boats and beats
Together with Stichting De Best Verzorgde Boeken, GRID Grafisch Museum celebrates the best of the graphic industry: books that belong to the absolute top of craftsmanship and book design. Or choose to take a romantic nighttime boattrip on the river A and the Zuiderhaven, between Museum aan de A and the Groninger Museum two historic ships will sail up and down, with music and poetry on baord! In the Groninger Museum Baby Berserk, known for their mix of music and fashion, will perform. At the Synagoge Groningen you will also be able to enjoy music: a combination of klezmer, tango, gypsy, classical and jazz by the Bolotny Trio, a real experience!

Brains, tattoos and World Press Photo
With the exhibition What Have We Done? Noorderlicht celebrates the 70th anniversary of World Press Photo. The exhibition shows how images have shaped and influenced our idea and understanding of the world. In the exhibition Brainstorm at the Universiteitsmuseum you will learn more about the human brain through four important brain functions: willing, perceiving, thinking, and doing. Forum Groningen meanwhile is showing the history and cultural meaning of tattoos with unique objects, beautiful creations in ink, rare pictures and impressive films. The Groningen Museum Night will end with a splendid party at the Akerk.
