New agreement with American Chemical Society

A new Read & Publish agreement has been signed with the American Chemical Society (ACS) for the period 2026–2028.

This means that ACS journals are available to read, and that corresponding authors affiliated with the UG and the UMCG will be able to publish open access in ACS’s hybrid journals at no cost, effective 1 July 2026. Note: this does not apply to the first half of 2026.

The agreement includes a national quota of 542 journal articles per year for all Dutch universities combined. Once this number of open access articles has been published, publication costs will no longer be covered centrally.
