RefWorks ends in 2025: Switch to Zotero or EndNote

Due to financial and technical reasons, the current RefWorks contract will not be renewed. Do you use RefWorks? Then switch to other reference managers, Zotero or Endnote.

The collection, safe storage and organization of literature and research data is paramount for researchers. The University Library has the ideal tools to help you.

With these applications you can generate reference lists in a quick and simple way, choosing from several output styles (like APA, Chicago or MLA):

Zotero

An open source application for reference management is Zotero. The free version of Zotero offers 300 MB of online storage; by saving downloaded articles and other full-text files locally, you can use this space efficiently and retain access to your references. Wihtin the UWP you may install Zotero via the UG UWP start menu. The University of Groningen does not have a licence for Zotero and therefore we only offer limited support.

EndNote

The licensed application for reference management at the University of Groningen is EndNote. EndNote is available in your UWP under Library Services and also in the UG Download portal.
