Loan period, renewals

A loan/ILL-loan is automatically renewed after 4 weeks (or 10 days in case of short-term loans) unless another borrower has reserved the book/ILL-book. The maximum number of renewals for students is 12, for staff 24. In case of a reservation, the book/ILL-book cannot be renewed, and has to be returned as soon as possible after the term of the loan is finished.

Renewing your loan period manually is also possible. Go to SmartCat, log in and go to My Account. Choose Renew. SmartCat will display the number of renewals and the new due date.

Late returns

If your maximum loan period has expired, or if the book has been reserved by another borrower, we will send you a reminder to return the book. If you do not return the book, your account will be blocked. We will also charge a replacement fee and administration costs.
