Request books via SmartCat, pick up at University Library

During the lockdown, it remains possible to request books from the collection of the Central Medical Library (CMB).

Where can I collect requested books?

Requested books have te be collected from the self-service of the University Library City Center. On request, we can also send books to your UMCG workplace by internal mail.

At what times can I collect requested books?

The opening hours of the self-service are:
Monday to Friday: 8:30 - 12:30 hour and 13:00 - 17:00 hour.

How long will it take before my request is available?

The requested books are collected three times a week from the CMB and taken to the University Library. You will receive an e-mail as soon as the requested book has arrived at the University Library. The book is then ready for you the next working day.
On request, we also send books to UMCG employees by internal mail.

Where can I return books?

  • You can return books via the 24/7 Bookbox on the outside of University Library City Center (Poststraat). This also applies to books of the Central Medical Library.
  • Or you can send books via (internal) mail to: Centrale Medische Bibliotheek FC41, Postbus 30001, 9700 RB Groningen

As a UMCG employee, can I collect books from the Central Medical Library?

Yes, if you are a UMCG employee you can pick up a book in the CMB by appointment if that is more convenient, please contact us for this. On request, we also send books to UMCG employees by internal mail.
