What is Career Services?

We do this through CV checks, cover letter support, coaching, and a wide range of high-quality workshops. About the position

You will work in a diverse team of approximately 10 students from different faculties and nationalities. As an on-call employee, you will be supervised by Career Services staff members and experienced student assistants.

We value reliability, initiative, quality, and team spirit. We enjoy working together, meeting regularly at the office, and connecting during informal team activities. The working language within our international team is English.

What will you be doing?

  • Checking CVs, motivation letters and LinkedIn profiles
  • Answering questions about career preparation
  • Providing information about workshops, trainings and seminars
  • Referring students to the appropriate career advisor, study advisor or organisation
  • Administrative tasks such as data processing, answering emails and calendar management

  • Organising and supporting events
  • Taking professional portrait photos of students for CVs and LinkedIn profiles
  • Creating engaging content for social media channels
  • Developing short-form videos and campaigns for TikTok, Instagram Reels and LinkedIn

Interested?

Do you recognise yourself in this profile and would you like to join the Career Services team? Then we would love to receive your application!

Please send us (before the deadline of Sunday June 28, 23:59h):

  • Your CV (maximum one A4 page);
  • A creative video of up to 90 seconds in which you introduce yourself and show us why you would be the perfect addition to the Career Services team.

Think of this video as your first assignment for Career Services. Create it in the style you would use for our social media channels, such as TikTok or Instagram Reels. We would like to get to know not only who you are, but also your creativity, personality, and ability to create content that resonates with students.

For example, you could tell us:

  • Who you are;
  • Why you are excited about this position;
  • What you can contribute to Career Services;
  • Why students would want to watch and engage with your content.

You are completely free to choose the format and approach of your video. We encourage you to experiment with creative concepts, storytelling, editing techniques, trends, humour, or any other elements that you believe would appeal to the student audience.

Please share your video via a link (for example SURFfilesender, OneDrive, Google Drive, YouTube, or WeTransfer) and send it together with your CV to swaeske.de.vries rug.nl.

We are not looking for the most professional camera setup or the most advanced editing skills. We are looking for someone with original ideas, initiative, and a strong understanding of how to engage and inspire students through online content.

Important to know

  • We are looking for students who are available throughout the entire academic year. If you are planning an internship, exchange programme or extended stay abroad between September 1, 2026 and September 1, 2027, there is unfortunately no point in applying.
  • Non-EU/EEA students can only apply if they have a residence permit that allows them to work without a work permit. Due to the nature of the zero hour contract, work permits cannot be issued by the government.
  • Interviews will take place on Tuesday 30 June 2026.
  • The mandatory introduction days will take place at the end of August 2026.

Join our team and help fellow students take the next step towards their dream career!
