Book a photobooth for your event

Are you hosting a job market-related event on behalf of a faculty, study association or other organisation with a direct connection to the UG? If so, you can make a request with Career Services to provide a free photobooth during your event.

What we offer

Our photobooth offers students the opportunity to have a well-lit and well-directed profile picture taken with a professional look and feel. For their LinkedIn profile, for their CV, or for whatever they deem necessary. From setting up the studio to registering contact details, our photographers take care of everything. After the event, we pick and process the best of the best: each student will be sent a curated selection within 5 working days.

Who can book us

We usually honour all requests for a photobooth at a job-market related event hosted by faculties or study associations (depending on the availability of our photographers). Other requests are processed on a case-by-case basis. We do not maintain a hard minimum or maximum requirement for the event’s size or duration, but do appreciate sufficient attendance throughout the day. In short: we cannot accommodate requests for an all-day event that hosts just 20 students. At the same time, we need enough time to get the picture just right for everyone, so we cannot process 200 students within one hour either.

Requirements

The minimum requirements for a proper photobooth consist of a room or otherwise vacant area of at least 4 by 4 meters, no direct sunlight (the darker the better) and at least two power outlets. Ideally, it would be a separate room where we can exercise full control over the lighting via switches and/or curtains. If in doubt about the suitability of the space, you can always consult with our photographers in advance. Prior to the photobooth, we need half an hour to set up the studio; afterwards, we can be packed up and ready to go within 15 minutes if need be.

Transport

For events taking place in the city centre within the Diepenring, in the Hortusbuurt, at the UMCG or at the Aweg, RUG Career Service will take care of the transport of the photobooth equipment. For events on locations beyond that area, such as Zernike, Martiniplaza or the Euroborg football stadium, the organisation is responsible for the transportation. Unless agreed upon otherwise, on working days the equipment can be collected from the Student Service Centre at most one day in advance, and has to be returned there the following (working) day at the latest.

Please note:
  • The organisation is responsible for any damage caused to the equipment during transport to and from the event location. No insurance is available from Career Services.

  • Transportation should be done by van, car or cargo bike (with cover in case of rain). In view of the weight of the equipment and general safety, transportation by bicycle is explicitly prohibited.

  • The Student Service Centre is located at Uurwerkersgang 10, but loading and unloading is easiest via the back entrance at Turftorenstraat 13.

Equipment

The photobooth consists of:

  • A large bag with two detachable studio lights, tripods and cabling

  • A separate softbox

  • A retractable white background banner

  • Two promotional roll-up banners
