NEXT News bulletin

03 October 2014

The new school year has started and NEXT too has been very busy already. Not only did our Service Point open again but we’ve also been present at a lot of events within and outside of the University of Groningen. A short impression.

On September 23th DeBroekriem on Tour visited Groningen. For those who don’t know DeBroekriem: it is a project aimed at job seekers trying to maximize their chances at getting a job. During the event in Groningen many workshops were given about for instance writing your CV or how to network properly. Our new studentpool members Maurits and Monique were present for NEXT and offered CV checks for alumni, students and job seekers.

Last week NEXT has also been present at the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences to inform students about the services NEXT offers. The pictures below and on our Facebook proof such an information booth doesn’t have to be boring!

Behind the scenes NEXT also had a busy time. On September 25th and 26th NEXT co-hosted the U4 conference about career services. The U4 is a collaboration between the universities of Groningen, Uppsala, Göttingen and Ghent. Over these two days many best practices, tips and tricks and information was shared amongst the attendees. A lecture about work migration patterns of alumni and the possible consequences for cities like Groningen was an interesting addition to the programme.

Lastly, NEXT has been present at the faculty of Economics and Business and at the Academybuilding for the Noorderlinkdagen.

In short: we have been busy bees! Did you manage to miss us despite all of this? Come and visit us at our Service Point in the University Library or keep an eye out on our social media to keep updated on our activities.
