General information

The Department of Genetics is part of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and has a broad spectrum of activities:

• clinical genetics and diagnostics *
• an extensive research program with strong interests in heart diseases, colon cancer, autoimmune and intestinal disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases
• hosting a genomics facility to facilitate large-scale genetic studies
• European surveillance of congenital anomalies (Eurocat)
• teaching of undergraduate students and training of clinical fellows.
