Curriculum Vitae


Born in Haarlem (The Netherlands ), Ed Noort was educated at the universities of Amsterdam , Kampen and Göttingen.
After professorships at the Reformed Theological Seminary of  Kampen (1979) and the
University of Hamburg (1989), he held –since 1993- the chair of  Old Testament at the University of Groningen . In 2009 he retired as a chair of Old Testament Studies. The University Board awarded him a Honorary Professorship. In the same year the Queen of the Netherlands appointed him Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion.
