Research interests: I am particularly interested in how group factors can drive collective action in response to global challenges, in particular climate change and the energy transition. The research I am currently conducting is centred around energy community participation and trying to comprehend what group factors and settings motivate individuals to engage in community energy actions. This is based on the NWO funded ‘FlexECs’ project that I am a part of along with my supervisors dr. Thijs Bouman and dr. Elliot Sharpe. This fascinating project proposes novel ways in which we can design energy communities in combination with e-mobility. The FlexECs project as well as my original background in Geography have steered me towards asking questions about how certain social and spatial dynamics of groups and communities are linked and how this may influence the participation intentions of individuals, particularly with regards to community/collective action against climate change.
