Title:   Programming for Modern Parallel and Distributed Systems

Abstract:

In this talk we describe our current research in two challenging areas. In the first half, we introduce a high-level approach to programming modern systems that comprise GPU (Graphics Processing Units) and multi-core processors. Our SkelCL library on top of OpenCL   greatly simplifies   the programming process as compared to the state of the art like CUDA and OpenCL, while providing competitive target performance. In the second half, we   present our Real-Time-Framwork (RTF) - a C++ based platform for efficient development and execution of distributed interactive applications like multi-player online computer games, simulation-based e-learning, etc. We   also briefly report on using RTF in the areas of Mobile Cloud Computing and QoS for Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

Colloquium coordinators are Prof.dr. M. Aiello (e-mail : M.Aiello rug.nl ) and
Prof.dr. M. Biehl (e-mail: M.Biehl rug.nl )
