BSS GUF-100 prize for Fabian Hobbie
During the summer ceremony in July German master student Fabian Hobbie was awarded the GUF-100 prize by the Rector Magnificus Elmer Sterken as BSS Faculty Student of the Year 2019. Last year, Fabian Hobbie completed his Master's degree in Psychology and the Research Master's degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences.
The jury was impressed by his presentation and also appreciated his excellent grades and Fabian's great social involvement, including in stem cell research.
Other nominees
In addition to Fabian, Andrea Kis and Lieke Molenaar were also nominated by the faculty. Andrea completed a Masters in Environmental Psychology and the Honors program with impressive grades, already has several publications to her name and is active in various organizations.
Lieke completes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with excellent grades, gained a lot of international experience during her exchange in Hong Kong and was involved as a board member of the UNICEF Student Team Groningen.
GUF-100
Every year, talented students and researchers from the University of Groningen (UG) are put in the spotlight at the end of the academic year. During the Summer Ceremony on Friday 5 July 2019, the winners of the GUF-100 prizes, and the Wierenga-Rengerink dissertation prize were announced. The GUF-100 prizes for excellent students were first awarded in 1993 on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the Groningen University Fund (GUF). Each GUF-100 prize is the sum of € 2500.
