prof. dr. B.W. (Robert) Lensink

I am Professor of Finance and Financial Markets within the department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance of the University of Groningen, fellow of the research institute IEEF (Institute for Economics, Econometrics and Finance),  and Professor Extraordinary University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa.  I am also a resource person of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).

Moreover, I am a fellow of SOM, chair of the board of governors of  GSG (Global Studies Groningen), external fellow of CREDIT, School of Economics, University of Nottingham, member of the steering committee of NWO-WOTRO, external fellow of SOAS (university of London), Associate Researcher CERMI (Centre for European Research in Microfinance) and a full member of the European Development Research Network (EUDN). I am also the University of Groningen ambassador for Stellenbosch.

In 2018 I have been appointed Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau for societal influence. In 2011 I won the SOM outstanding researcher award.

I am currently the vice dean research of FEB and the director of the research institute FEBRI.
