Film and Contemporary Audiovisual Media colloquium

Abstract

The talk will tackle the impact of so-called "AI" technologies on contemporary visual culture, taking into consideration technologies of both "Analytic AI" and "Generative AI". It will then highlight the fact that in both these fields AI introduces a series of systematic, algorithmic correlations between images and words that profoundly reorganize the relations between the visible and the sayable. The talk will include the analysis of works stemming from the fields of contemporary art and contemporary photography.
